SCoW | Standing Committee on Wellness
Wellness is the state of being healthy in body and mind which can also be perceived as an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness, prolonging and improving the quality of life. How on earth could you not want to participate in this!
The Standing Committee on Wellness (SCoW) is one of the youngest committees of the IVSA. The awareness of the wellness related issues of the veterinary profession and the need to better understand the needs of students and veterinarians lead to the formation of this committee. SCoW is devoted to transversal education on mental health and physical health (including topics like emotional intelligence, stress relief, healthy balance and self awareness). Our committee is composed by 9 students with Taylor Strange as Chair, together representing a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. We put in a daily effort to raise awareness and deliver quality information to help improve the individual wellness of all veterinary students worldwide.
